Aims of Art Education
Our Art Education aims to develop every child to be visually literate and to appreciate Art. The term ‘visually literate’ means to be able to observe, understand and make meaning of what the child sees. The child is also able to communicate his or her ideas by using and creating visuals.

Syllabus Framework

The syllabus framework structured the cognitive, psychomotor and affective development of the pupils under three behavioural domains :
  • Seeing – Pupils will observe, respond to and interpret visual images and objects. They will also make comparisons and generate ideas.
  • Expressing - Pupils will be provided with opportunities to express their ideas, thoughts, experiences and feelings through artworks, discussion and writing. They would also be able to make use of different materials, art elements and principles of design to achieve the desired imagery and visual effect. Pupils will acquire art techniques and communication skills.
  • Appreciating - Pupils will get to showcase their artworks as recognition of their efforts and talents, thus building their confidence and provide them with a sense of achievement.

With this belief that every child is an artist in his or her own rights, I started a programme in this school where at least 1 of the child’s artwork, is displayed on a wall in the school.

So come and let me share with you my pupils’ artworks and I sincerely hope you can feel their joy and enthusiasm and see their flair for colours and design.
